A fragmentary local notice lists several residents and events including travel to Boise and Bellevue Nebraska, a furniture sale, building repairs at the Union saloon, new office staff, an eight foot walk around a business, and various social and occupational updates from Kemmerer Diamondville and surrounding areas.
Frontier notes report residents visiting relatives in Frontier and Opal, moves to Cumberland and Kemmerer, coal mining activity, new businesses and saloon sales, a plucky banquet for the Pinefore company, theater and social events, a charity donation to a memorial fund, a minor injury at school, and a medical testimonial for Chamberlain’s Pain Balm.
The notice explains locating coal mineral and oil claims will proceed this winter and next spring with hundreds of acres to be located. Camera presses produced blanks of the latest forms for locating any claim, large half sheets printed for use in Colorado Utah and approved by Wyoming authorities. A salacious dispatch claiming a Utah Wyoming well spouted oil twenty five feet high caused intense excitement in Kemmerer and nearby papers. In fact, the well was not flowing, though water and oil shows were noted near 360 feet. The Fossil Consolidated drill is repairing casing as plans for drive-well pipe proceed at Kemmerer.
An advertisement extols Bucklen’s Arnica Salve as superior for cuts, burns, boils, sores, felons, ulcers, and skin eruptions, claiming universal fame and a 250 price at Hocker and Landers. It also features a testimonial praising Chamberlain’s Cough Remedy as the best for coughs and colds, with Mrs. J. A. Moore of North Star, Michigan endorsing it. sales through all dealers.
Tonight at the opera house a twenty round boxing match features Kid Brady of Seattle versus Kid Rogers of Chicago for a $150 purse per side and 75 percent of the gate to the winner. Both men are in fine condition and the event promises a first class exhibition with no faking. Several preliminary bouts include local and foreign entrants with the main show starting at 9 o'clock.
