A local envoy, Mr Whitman, promotes a river valley project stretching from Opal to the upper Cress River, aiming to recruit workers to LaBerge and establish a new spring operation with extensive reed fields and a secure access route. The campaign envisions miles of reed beds and a path to sostable spring production.
The Alghs Literary Society will present a Chetan play Friday afternoon. Everyone is invited. A corion of game will follow after the performance with results noted. A letter from Miss Sereb Bagley, manager of the Prelmen Girie Racket Hall Team, was received.
The program featured recitation by Maggie Roberts and Carremt Events with Laure Pagneat and Kenan among participants. Judges included Mr. Barch and Mie Howard. The decision favored the affirmative. Marjorie Christmas presented a book review and Lewis Aneddon a story titled deme smmem.
The Chicago convention will convene next year to select a presidential and vice presidential candidate. William Hayward of Nebraska chosen as secretary until the new national committee is formed. The meeting followed the 1908 convention call and the presidential primaries faced defeat as in prior years.
The Hankine Cafe changes hands this morning with Mark Hoag appointed as manager. Hoag, a long time Evanson resident of nearly 40 years, is known in the area and is expected to continue cafe operations under his leadership.
G Hestye of Salt Lake City head of Mountain States Telephone division visited Kemmerer last week. He outlined 1919 plans including 975000 in improvements, reconstruction of the exchange, cable all loom wires, alley posts, and a Rock Springs to Montpelier copper line. Rosk Springs to Rawlins direct service and Logan to Garden City line repairs are also noted.
Mr and Mrs L B Henrick of Pine Gale mourn the loss of their daughter Hazel 18 who died Monday evening last week at Rosk Springs Hospital. She was a local resident and the community extends sympathy to the family.
The torum operation in Ft. spent time with Witeh who died of pneumonia contracted on a rough trip. Loav- Pinedale is an auto with her parcote. They were followed by a vehicle about 60 miles from their destination and taken to Rock Springs. Hazel’s remains were returned to Pinedale for interment, a 110 mile journey. Hazel, a bright little girl, was loved by all. Her parents lived on the Green River ranch before moving to Pinedale for schooling.
Efforts of Mrs Cors B Wanamaker as publisher of the Rock Springs Rocket are praised by the Western Publisher of Chicago. The weekly has reached four years under her leadership, earning town confidence and growing its job printing business.
A runaway stage team after crossing Slate Creek caused a wreck that tore the rig apart. The team was found dead in a gulch, one horse broken neck and another dragged under harness. Benjamin Air Rifle advertised by Kemmerer Hardware & Furniture Co.
The Hon. Gus Grimm of Medicine Bow, Wyoming, former Carbon County representative and mayor, visited Kemmerer and praised local booster efforts. He highlighted a monument to Owen Wister and a planned three story Virginian hotel with potential spring expansion, plus new oil pipelines from Casper field and projects to expand land and water storage, signaling future growth and a resort appeal.
Up to 90 000 miners may walk out if called as unions rally after changes in pay methods. The dispute centers on shift from run of mine to a different basis, with Fremont and Colorado Fuel & Iron officials named among those affected. Governor Shafroth awaits a commission report on the pay decrease and mine practices.
