Star Valley pioneers and prosperity in Lincoln County
Star Valley in Lincoln County is portrayed as a thriving, high-altitude farming region with a rich pioneer history. The piece covers early settlement led by August Lehmberg and others, the hard winter of 1889 90, dairy industry growth with creameries paying farmers, and the development of infrastructure, schools, roads, and utilities. It notes climate, water resources, agriculture, wagon routes, and the rise of Afton as commercial center with stake church leadership and local businesses.
