A Wyoming association urges no decrease in sheep numbers and asks for expanded grazing on the range. They criticize forestry rules, commend Senator Clark and Warren and Congressman Movidell for opposing public range leasing, and thank Governor Brooks and Kemmerer for hospitality.
The Kemmerer convention adjourned after committees on resolutions reported and officers were elected. Discussions covered enforcing laws on land use, wool prices, and county funds for bounty. a motion to curb social influence on settlers sparked sharp exchanges.
A coyote bounty plan was adopted by the association to levy a per head annual assessment not to exceed half a cent on all sheep. The funding covers extermination within a large Idaho Wyoming boundary through Green's Ranch and surrounding areas, with Cokeville and Kemmerer named revolving stations for killed coyotes. The secretary is charged to request sheepmen in the range to help pay the costs.
