President Wilson calls on coal operators and miners to boost output amid wartime coal shortages. He warns of danger to war plans and soldiers in France if supplies fail, urging cooperation, fair treatment, and diligence to increase production despite drafts and industry strains. Receipts from the National Forests in the fiscal year ended June 30 1918 totaled over 3.574 million dollars, up almost 120 thousand from the prior year despite a smaller rise than the previous year. Operating costs were about 4 million, with much of the increase due to more livestock grazing. Timber revenues topped 1.5 million in sales with net profits from grazing and land occupancy contributing further. Foresters note timber and water power permits faced weak demand amid wartime legislation.
George P. Tindall of Seattle says Tanlac relieved years of muscular rheumatism back pain and poor appetite after weeks of treatment. He reports sleeping better and eating well, claiming the medicine restored his health and urged others with similar troubles to try Tanlac.
