Kemmerer schools set to reopen with record enrollment
Kemmerer district begins classes on Tuesday September 4 with more teachers than last year to handle a higher enrollment. Prof Burch leads a reorganized grade system with new staff including Prof A J Wilbur Miss Euuna Finney Mins Louise Gumner and Miss Emma Seyfert. Forged Check Suspect Arrested in Kemmerer Case
Wm Lather alias George Wilson from Idaho was arrested in Kemmerer last week while attempting to pass four forged checks. He claimed to have secured the checks in Montpelier from a stranger for payment of 15. He was arraigned before Judge Rosenting and bound over to district court, then jailed when unable to furnish surety. He was later taken to Evanston by Deputy Sheriff Carl Rogers. It was learned he entered the Sawaya store that morning seeking a blank check on the Fins National Bank, leading to the belief the forgeries were home crafted.
