After seven months of excavation a new 1400 foot slope at No 5 mine Sublet is finished and connected to the mine. New electrical machinery will be installed and the mine will be able to lift more coal daily with lower power use. Last Friday 75 men arrived from Colorado to work in Kemmerer area mines, with 100 more workers expected soon to meet demand.
