John Mudd of Big Piney visiting Betorin learned of a house struck by lightning at Dan Hedd's home. A bolt tore two holes in the roof and shattered a window frame while Ian Wan and his mother and wife, sheltering nearby, were knocked unconscious but survived with only shock.
George Pixley, a longtime Wyoming rancher, visited town after gathering supplies on the upper Green River near Meaver. He reports growing confidence in the future, with expectations of an excellent hay crop and a strong fall beef market. The Pixley ranch is noted for producing high priced beef from the region.
Taft issues proclamations changing Wheyenne National Forest to Medicine Bow National Forest and opening 30 865 acres for settlement. The Medicine Bow headquarters remains at Laramie.

The death of little Margaret Thomas from scarlet fever shocks Labarge. Funeral attendance was low due to fear of illness, but flowers were abundant. The other three children are out of danger. The Labarge school takes a month off for haying. Local families move to Colorado and Oregon, while rain relief is noted. Teachers Margarita Cooper and Late Coleman visited, and others plan relocations or business moves.
Jeme Goodfellow reports extensive wool purchases in town and notes most western wool sold with Montana wool as the exception. Buyers move active nationwide with prices from 17 to 20 per pound and several Wyoming ranchers like Salmon Wros, Fenner, Quealy Peterson, and Frank Peiffer among recent sellers.
State of Wyoming has filed in this office a list of land parcels in townships including Tp 21 N Range 113 West. List No. 106 Sr 02420 is open for public inspection and copying by descriptive subdivision.
