Residents of Kemmerer look forward to a tank demonstration on Saturday afternoon as an Army tank and expert crew visit the town. The event promises a close view of the armored vehicle in action with explanations on its handling, drawing both kids and adults to watch the spectacle roll from the depot to Cokeville.
The Chamber of Commerce held a special meeting in the District Courtroom to elect officers for the year and review committee reports. W. Witherspoon was elected president after J. E. Burch declined. Election-day plans include closing businesses for two hours to boost voter turnout for a bond issue.
Police report masked robbers entered a local Oakley area business and took about $360 in cash. Authorities describe the suspects as three men wearing masks and note an investigation is ongoing with arrests expected.
Rumor spills on Kemmerer streets that a Cretaceous field gusher near Big Piney has shot oil about 40 feet after gas was cleared. The high grade crude is valued at 50 to 100 dollars per barrel with plans for extensive development in Dry Piney this summer as capital interest grows.
A. D. Hoskins urges voting yes on state bonds for roads, arguing $2,000 per mile cost with cement repairs to ensure year round roads. He cites state funding and a 400000 appropriation to cover maintenance, noting automobile tax implications for property owners. Continued on page eight.

Pursuant to Roosevelt guidance the Wyoming state convention of Great War veterans will meet in Casper on April 26 1919 at 10 AM to appoint delegates for the National Convention in St Louis May 6 9 and 10 1919. Delegates from counties will be apportioned to align with county conventions held earlier. County chairmen are asked to call meetings by April 28 1919 to select delegates under temporary Wyoming law.
A.D. Woking proposes the state purchase of Victory Bonds worth $500 000 as part of the war loan drive. The plan asks for county allocation and aims to raise $15 000 for the Riverside County share through a public financing proposal.
