The Governor of Wyoming proclaims a state Arbor Day for April 96 1912 urging school children to plant trees and flowers at homes schools parks farms and along ditches to promote growth and beauty. The proclamation notes the nationwide adoption of Arbor Day and credits trees with improving communities and the environment.
Jake Milleson of Opal was arrested last week and brought before Rosenberg charged with destroying a signal block on the Oregon Short Line railroad. He allegedly damaged the Oak system causing the block to fail and incited a probable derailment risk.
Voroner T B Carnahan visited Kemmerer Thursday en route to Evanston with a person to be committed to the asylum. He plans to start work on a new brick home in Kemmerer mid month, with four rooms and potential two more rentals behind Stanley Brauimer’s property. The notice promotes a Great Majestic range and a Kem Hardware and Furniture Co. inventory.
The Round Table Conference of superintendents and principals met amid late train schedules with lectures by Mr Creager and remarks by Sal echoe at Laramie. Educators debated education’s aims noting many non finish school, the craft and liberal education, and planned next meetings with A D Bolaway presiding.
About a dozen Lincoln county teachers attended the state examinations in Kemmerer on Friday and Saturday to qualify for certificates. Due to illness of county superintendent Mrs Iva Thomas Irish, her brother Win H Thomas deputy superintendent conducted the exams. Examinations proceeded smoothly with keen interest from participants. Large cattle interests report hay nearly exhausted, with stacks bought up to the New York and Eastfork regions. Ranchers pace feeding earlier, risking weak stock when range opens, hoping conditions improve as districts report the same scarcity.
The Board of County Commissioners calls attention to Cokeville Road between here and Cokeville. Road Supervisor Jack Matthews sent a crew to Sugg canyon to fix the worst spots before snow melts. Work aims to restore travel for teams and autos as winter ends. Ken Hardware advertises colonial mirrors at half price.
