Ice jams endanger railroad wagon bridges and a swinging footbridge near Frontier as floods rise after a Sunday chinook. Dynamite attempts and continuous shooting kept water blocked overnight into Tuesday, forcing some families to relocate while others await May high water.
All train schedules were annulled yesterday morning on the Oregon Short Line and no mail was to be had. A three inch fall of wet snow overnight worsens weather conditions and signals more high water to follow as the sun comes out.
Twelve teachers attended the regular examinations conducted in the Kemmerer high school building last Friday and Saturday. Supt. Burch and County Superintendent presided while Mrs. Nicholson held a concurrent exam at Afton. C P Sorenson of Rock Springs, visiting Kemmerer, reports he oversaw the shipment of 34 carloads of elk from Jackson Hole to Wyoming and other states. He notes elk are in good condition after wintering well. He says sportsmen oppose the new fish game law, with few violations remaining. He was in Rawlins on Wednesday for office business.
Clyde M. Watts of Cheyenne special master in chancery with H B Durham and W A Murphy special assistants examined witnesses in Kemmerer on Tuesday. They reported the coal land cases are now drawing government attention.
