Summit Interurban Line Draws Crowds Despite Rain

Despite rain a large crowd visited the new interurban line to Summit, four miles east of New Lenox, to view the Joliet Southern and Michigan Central crossings. The elevated Joliet Southern track rises 1 200 feet above sea level with a 22 foot railroad clearance planned for the bridge. Milk stations dot the route, cars are on order for spring delivery, and the line is built for 60 mph with summit grade climbs to Summit.
