Frederick Trowbridge and Joseph Hen shaw pleaded guilty to horse stealing and were sentenced to the penitentiary under the indeterminate act for a term of not less than one nor more than ten years. Pleas of guilty were entered in all six cases, one for each of the six horses stolen in recent months. Trowbridge also faced six additional indictments by grand jury.
The Will county bar mourns S C Camp of Wilmington one of its oldest members. Once a promising Oswego attorney in 1960 he served as a captain in the 96th Illinois regiment and later settled in Wilmington resuming law. His public speeches, notably after the Daniels bank failure and in support of the soldiers monument, left a lasting impression on Joliet and surrounding communities.
Mrs. Mahoney 26 died at home 304 North Joliet Tuesday night after five months illness. Wife of George Mahoney and daughter of Jeremiah and Mrs. McAuliffe Englewood. Survived by one child Catherine Evelyn five months. Funeral from home Friday at 9 to St Mary’s Church Mt Olivet Cemetery. George Mahoney a grocer, receives community sympathy.

Chief Reitz departed for Roslyn Washington to return with Charles White a colored man wanted in Will County for the murder of Georgia Morton White is under indictment for throwing Morton into the canal at Lockport last summer after a quarrel following a colored picnic. White fled and eluded authorities.
