Five Men Hurt as Wall Collapses at Coke Ovens
A snow and weather related collapse at the Steel Company coke ovens injured five workers Saturday afternoon. The west half of the south wall of the ten brick storehouse gave way, with sand piles and cement bags toppling. Felix Zeros-Skull suffered a skull fracture and was taken to Silver Cross Hospital. Gammon was badly bruised and hospitalized. IL Kulzic was bruised. Lionescoch had a shoulder bruise. all were treated and reported not to be in serious danger.

Extension Finished for Lockport Sanitary Channel
The Lockport Extension of the sanitary district channel from the controlling works to the power house is finished. 125 men are discharged. President McCormick and Secretary Hoyt King inspected the site and declared the old J J Duffy contract fulfilled. The Duffy firm earned about 1200 from a pair of its traps. The district took over last July after halting Duffy for slow progress and completed the project using Duffy machinery. The new 16th street bridge and approaches are finished and to open to the public this week.
