Pioneer Farmer Thomas Fahey Dies in Manhattan
Thomas Fahey a longtime Manhattan farmer and Ireland native died after twelve days of kidney trouble at age 82 years 18 days. A staunch Democrat, he settled in Manhattan in 1849, lived briefly south, then returned in 1864 and remained there. Survived by five children including attorneys F. M. Fahey of Manhattan and John Fahey of Batavia. Funeral at 8 a.m. Monday from the Manhattan home to St. Joseph's Church, Father Foster officiating, burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
