Judge Hooper ordered Frank Fredrick to pay 55 dollars monthly alimony starting July first, grant Mrs Fredrick the Marion street home, and custody of sons Harold and Harlow. He must cover certain household expenses pending the suit. An appeal was noted by the defendant.
Large groups flock to Starved Rock with fifty excursionists from Aurora and seventy five more purchasing tickets. The Chicago Ottawa and Peoria interurban promotes the trip highlighting canyons, forests, and clear waters as a draw for visitors.
Charles A. Noble, head of the Elks convention information bureau, will supervise the card index registration in the Adam Building on Van Buren during Home Coming. The system will register all former Joliet residents and be maintained with up to date details including names, home addresses, and marital status. Citizens are urged to have guests register at the bureau opposite Public Service Company.

Mrs. Bishop Oldham spoke on missionary work in India. Rev. Mr. True of Lockport addressed Bible study in place of Rev. P. A. Hultgren. Rev. James R. Joliet spoke on caring for boys and teens.
Fire of unknown origin broke out in the living rooms of Mrs. Peter Cuttie at 108 South Joliet Street around 7 last night. The blaze started in a clothes closet and, aided by quick action from the Cuttie children and Harold Cuttie, the flames shot from the front windows before the department arrived. the fire did not spread to the woodwork and chemicals were used to extinguish it.
Joseph Maday of Ad ler Co emerges as the city’s leading fly swatter. Between Thursday at four and today ten he captured over a gallon of flies using a home built trap. Dr H G Schuessler calls the device the best of its kind and says it aids extermination more than any other effort.
Contestants push to finish Queen of the Coming vote as closing falls at 10 pm Monday July 1. Leaders Leona Black 7291 votes Elizabeth Hall 6901 with others tilting totals and tickets worth 100 votes plus 25 cents. Vote boxes collected at 6 pm with results posted hourly until 9 pm or closing.
Michael Frankovich of 1308 Clement street, a 16 year Scott street mill employee, died suddenly at home before 8 pm. Inquest cites heart and kidney weakness. He was about 35 and had recently returned from work, gave wages to his wife, then collapsed. child found him dead when called for supper.
Officials unveil a record breaking Fourth of July program with cars floats and marching bodies. Route begins Scott Street to Chicago Street and loops city streets then returns to North Ottawa and North Chicago for a grand civic parade.
Elephants will perform all next week at Deb and arrive on the Michigan railroad tomorrow morning. They will be at the C J work at igan Central station.
