Union Church Picnic in Moldt's Grove

A union church picnic was held yesterday in Moldt's Grove between Elwood and Joliet. More than 600 attended the event. Sporting events provided amusement and involved two Evangelical churches from Providence and Presbyterian groups represented.

Seventh Day Adventists Plan Joliet Camp Meeting

Two thousand seventh day Adventists will camp in Joliet next August. The Nihern Illinois Conference will hold its annual meeting on suitable grounds in tents near West Park. World leaders from the organization will attend including G Panniells and F B Gilbert. The event runs about ten to fifteen days starting August 15 with a health food restaurant and sanitarium displays. Elder E H Lewis is arranging the camp site.

International Electrical Workers Vice President Arrested in Strike Incident

Vice President Thomas Lake of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and Walter Eib were arrested by sheriff deputies on assault and battery charges after an alleged midnight attack on Public Service Company employees William Specht and John Hings near the Jefferson Street bridge.
