Burglar Captured After Bold Daylight Boston Store Attempt
Wm. F. Starr, 603 S. Center, a Rock Island extra brakeman, was arrested for a daylight robbery attempt at the Boston Store. He leaped from a stairway window to the alley after being spotted by night watchman Frank Ebner, then chased through Ot tawa street and captured by Officer Fernango near the store. Starr blamed drink for the act and said he supports a wife two children and a grandmother. He was held on $1,000 bond pending trial Wednesday.

Lockport Woman Shot by Husband in Chicago Home
Mabel Cheney Haller of Lockport was shot in the right cheek and seriously wounded by her husband William Haller at their 65378 Wood Street residence in Chicago. Haller then fatally shot himself, dying of a self-inflicted wound.
