Midnight Racers Identity Revealed in City Night Race

A May 30 midnight contest north of the city drew residents from Dellwood Park to the prison gate as two heat races determined the winner. George B. Webster of Chicago backed a 1911 6-60 Loco roadster, while the rival National car from Chicago was driven by Harry Woods and James Mock, with stakes of 26 dollars.

Visiting Elks Receive Souvenirs at Penitentiary

Warden Murphy invited the group to inspect the prison and handed out small whisk broom keepsakes adorned with purple and white ribbons. Those not present yesterday may visit today or tomorrow. Elk Visitors Meet Old-Time Friends at Social Event

A Joliet Elks club gathering last night aimed to acquaint visitors with members. The room featured purple and white decor, no formal program, and socializing. Ernest Hirscher played piano while Paddy McCann sang Where the River Shannon Flows. the event revived old acquaintances and stories among attendees.

Free Street Acts Special Tonight at Corner of Jefferson

The Elks sponsor four vaudeville acts from the Orpheum circuit. The Four Mells perform at 8 PM at Jefferson and Ottawa, followed by three more at Chicago and Cass at 8 30 PM. Steel Works band plays before, during, and after shows. Montambo and Wells open the second show with a tumbling act, Osaga Japanese troupe balances and juggles, Malvern troupe closes with acrobatics.

An 88 year old Joliet Illinois resident named J Webber was found wandering Milwaukee streets at night. A patrolman took her to Emergency Hospital where she is receiving care and officials believe she came to Milwaukee to visit relatives.

Milwaukee Area Aged Woman Seeks Return Home Amid Family Feud

Telegram from Milwaukee press bureau reports Mrs. Webber, owner of two South Milwaukee properties, wants to return home to protect her interests in conflict with son-in-law James W. Beaman. She sought police assistance to reach her home hospital after fatigue and confusion. Beaman reportedly visited Milwaukee Tuesday and left the Chip Rock Islands route en route back with word of the predicament.
