Vags Take Warning Jail Sentences Feared
For the first day in nearly a week no vags were arraigned in police court this morning, hence no additions were made to the colony in the Will county jail. The sentencing of these gentry to the county jail for terms of from 20 to 90 days, is having a good effect. During the past week several of those who were arrested gave the names of officers in the local police department, and no amount of questioning was able to induce them to give their right names. All such have been given a little stiffer fine than might have fallen to their lot.

Gardner Editor Dies At Desk In Snow Covered Town
W S Park editor and publisher of the Weekly Chronicle died suddenly at his desk in Gardner on December 29. He had cleared the snow from the walk earlier and appeared well. His wife Mrs Park assisted in the paper. He left a pencil in his hand as he prepared an editorial. Survived by widow and his aged mother. Coroner notified. inquest to be held.

A telegram notified W H Clare of the death of his cousin Mrs Mary Healey in Bloomington last night. Mr Clare and relatives traveled there for the funeral.
