Two American Hunters Shot by Canadians
Buffalo New York December 28 Canadian soldiers on patrol near Fort Erie fired on Walter Smith and Charles Dorsch of Buffalo as they approached Canadian row boats while duck hunting. Smith was killed instantly and Dorsch seriously wounded and hospitalized. James McQuade of 409 South Des Plaines Street was knocked down and run over by a horse and cutter driven by Edgar Tolf of Johnson & Co butchers at 419 North Collins Street.
