C Ward Schroeder son of F W Schroeder from Joliet and Joliet township high school graduate left New York City last Sunday morning to head the London branch of a major stock and bond house. He was ordered to prepare for a trip to England the day before and sailed on the Kronprinzess on Sunday to Liverpool with his wife. Schroeder previously ran a North Hickory street grocery, then worked in Chicago stocks and bonds, later moving to New York with Harrison Williams. He becomes manager of the English branch and will reside in London permanently.

Mrs Ray of Morris Dies After Long Illness
Julia N Reading Ray died at her Morris home after four months of illness and two major operations. She was born April 8 1840 in Flemington New Jersey and moved to Morris in 1853. She married Lyman B Ray in 1858 and leaves her husband and daughter Mrs C W Jordan. Burial in Morris after a 1 PM funeral at the house. She was active in the Congregational church.
