James H. Alexander a leading Will county reformer and representative elect died at his Lockport home from stomach poisoning aggravated by kidney trouble. He was born February 27 1846 in Dupage township and survived by wife Laura Haywood a son Healy and a daughter Mrs H M Johnson. a son Hayes had died earlier.

Reports include the Gergen case and animal welfare efforts such as rescuing an ownerless pony and curbing hack horses near Union Station.
