Mother of Lock-Jaw Victim Wins State Claim
The State Industrial Board of Claims allowed a $3,120 claim to Mrs. Lena Voris of Chicago after her son William Voris died from lockjaw contracted from a cut at the state yard in Lockport. He died in Joliet at St Joseph's Hospital about a week later. The hearing was at a Lockport canal office with Attorney Joseph Healy representing Mrs. Voris. Witnesses included John Smyth and John Effting. Senators Seibert and Schuberth attended.
