Former Joliet Man Edward Baker Dies in England
News from Joliet reports Edward Baker longtime resident and former alderman of the First Ward has died in England after returning to his native land ten years ago. He was 70, had suffered cerebral hemorrhages, and was buried near his home in South Hatton, England. Baker worked nearly two decades in Joliet steel mills before later joining Zarley Stone Co and other interests. He served on the city council in 1893 and 1894 under Mayor Stassen. He left Joliet in 1904. his wife died a year before. He had two children but only Ted Baker, the pianist, survived in England. The Joliet home was at Collins and Benton streets.

Curry Funeral Held From Elks Lodge
The funeral of Edward Curry was held this afternoon from Elks hall. Officers of the lodge conducted the services. Rev H G Van Pelt spoke at the home on Oneida street before the cortege departed for services. Interment was in the Elks lot at Elmhurst cemetery, which Curry dedicated last year as exalted ruler.

A A Parks Completes Modern County Dairy Barn
One of the county’s most modern dairy barns was completed today by A A Parks for Harvey Green west of the boulevard. The gamble root design measures 34 by 90 feet with a $3 500 cost and two Indiana stave silos each 200 tons capacity. A similar barn will be built by R J Barr this winter west of the city on the Black road.

Frankfort Hermit Threatens Death by Own Action

Inquest Held Over Sunday Train Victim
An inquest at Wunderlich Harris parlors investigated an unknown man struck by a Chicago and Alton train north of the prison. Believed to be John A. Johnson of Minneapolis, a letter addressed to that name was found. Coroner Wunderlich urged tracing the writer to confirm identity and body disposition.
