A Coal City man, Thomas McDonald, 26, was accidentally shot by his wife during a joke with a loaded 22 caliber revolver. He contracted tetanus and died at St Joseph's hospital after initial wounds seemed minor. Coroner W C Wunderlich investigated as relatives from Coal City prepared the body for shipment. the couple's trial is postponed while witnesses are summoned.

City to test water from wells for typhoid outbreak
The health department will continue water tests from suspected wells with samples collected by Illinois State University. About twenty wells have been tested. more containers arrive today.
