Bond Sale Boosts Joliet Rail Venture Amid Local Boom

At the Joliet opera house a Commercial club and Merchant’s Association event saw about a half dozen businessmen commit to purchase 18000 in bonds to fund the Fisher Construction Company’s traction line toward Bloomington Pontiac and Joliet. Bonds pay 5 percent and are secured by a first mortgage on the line’s property.

Father Tonello Returns Home From Europe to Joliet

Int honor of Father Tonello who arrived home last evening from Europe. A reception by the Children of Mary Sodality on the parish lawn drew a hundred and more children and church members. He spoke of the trip and gave each child a remembrance. Guests included John M. Danti Frank Spesia Charles Romolo and others. Gifts from the pope and Princess Helene of Orleans were presented along with a gold watch and a French style cloak.

Adam Menche Dies in Keewanee Labor Leader Remembered

Adam Menche a deputy factory inspector and former president of the Illinois State Federation of Labor was found dead in his Keewanee room. physicians say death occurred days earlier likely from heart failure. A cigarmaker active in labor circles he led the federation from 1902 to 1903 and was a prominent local figure.

Body of G G Kuhn Found After Drowning in Lemont Channel

The Chicago man G C Kuhn aged 30 resided at 1008 West 87th street was drowned when his power boat swamped near Lemont during a pleasure trip. His body was recovered at 7 this morning and taken to Numanich's undertaking rooms. An inquest is planned as relatives were notified and Chicago police and Coroner Noel take charge.

Foreclosure suit filed in circuit court over old trust deed

In the circuit court this morning E R Lynold and L L Schoenstedt as trustee filed suit to foreclose on a trust deed against Frank and Pauline Zubka Butch Thompson L M Skom and Jennie Skom and Bell Norton. The action seeks recovery on five notes dated January 12 1903 totaling 860. Thompson and Mrs Norton are tenants and the Skoms residents of Chicago are judgment creditors.

Rainey to Present Waterways Views at Boomer Meeting
