Drowned Stocker Recovered After Two-Hour Rescue Effort
Lafayette Stocker, a high school and Beloit college student, drowned in the Kankakee near Custer Park. Lawrence Stansbury attempted to rescue him while Miss Isadore Patterson and Miss Etelka Cross watched. Stocker was found by fish-pole searchers and brought to Joliet. The tragedy severely affected Stocker’s parents and friends. funeral services are planned in Morris.
