Gasoline Explosion at Local Roaster Causes Scare

An inquest into William Keenan's mental condition will be held Monday afternoon. Doctors say he may recover with two days treatment at the jail after over indulgence in alcohol. He was taken to Dwight for treatment earlier this week and returned to the city. he became violent and was the subject of county court action. Home address 601 Ottawa Street.

Pleads Guilty but 15 Granted Liberty by Judge Marshall

G. C. Calpwll, who told the story, reported that the man pled guilty to securing money by fraud and was given liberty pending further action.

Caldwell given suspended sentence in five false pretenses cases

G C Caldwell pleaded guilty to five counts of securing money under false pretenses for taking five orders in Joliet and Aurora for Stoddard's works and failing to deliver. He claimed he acted in good faith after being misled by a man claiming McClure's representation. Judge Marshall suspended the sentence after hearing his story.

Springfield reports Frank Bryant found guilty of murdering 65 year old Thomas Bradley to rob his trunk. Judge Creighton set December 18 for the execution. Bryant has prior Joliet time.
