Anthony Blouth and Matthew Stariha, labeled No 973 and No 974, arrived at the state penitentiary after brief carriage transfer. They were shaved, dressed in state clothes, and began their imprisonment amid routine, with literature and meals provided. Stariha remarked that life behind bars might be preferable to life on the outside.

Circle Hosts Bethany Group After Noon at Home

Mrs Amos Galass with sister Mrs John Arnold and Mrs Griep welcomed the Bethany Circle of Kings Daughters at her Jeffer son street home. A brief business session planned a winter picnic for First Presbyterian church. Supper was served at 6 30. Members sewed for Silver Cross hospital and devotionals were led by Mrs Ditto. A luncheon followed.

A Young People's Society rally unfolds Thursday evening in the church parlors with Rev. Claude E. Boyer of Plano as principal speaker and Rev. Bruce of Jackson delivering readings. Friday features the Woman's Missionary Society at 3 pm with the Martley church Missionaries as guests and Rev. Dent speaking. supper served from 5 to 6 o'clock.

Frank Shreffler Surprised On 31st Birthday Party

Frank Shreffler celebrated his thirty first birthday at his East Marion street home Saturday evening with twenty five friends. Progressive euchre provided entertainment. Ladies prizes went to Mrs Dorre and Mrs B Grant. gentlemen's first prize to William Ruthenbeck, consolation to Mr Dorre. Mrs Ida Jacobs and Miss Bird sang with solos. A four course luncheon followed at a late hour.

Boy Fractures Skull Riding a Turnstile

Joseph Lugent ten years old of Linden Avenue lies in St Joseph's Hospital with four skull fractures after an accident at noon today. He and playmates were riding a turnstile in the Western Stem quarries on the same street when he lost grip and was hurled violently to the ground.
