William J. Calhoun of Chicago will address Joliet voters tomorrow at the Perry House as part of a monster mass meeting. He is famed for Cuban and Venezuelan commissions under McKinley and Roosevelt. The Will County Republican Committee names a long list of vice presidential nominees from Joliet Republicans.

The Knights of Pythias grand lodge adjourned at noon to meet in Peoria next October. Appointments include Grand tribune J D Roeper Springfield and relief board member Charles R Franklin Chicago. State convention elected Ozila Richardson Streator as Grand chief and other officers across Ottawa Chicago Harvey Leroy and Quincy.
Reverend Robt Yost wins the handicap golf tourney at the country club earning a handsome trophy. His steady play and accuracy on the links carried him past competitors in a closely contested event.
Rev Robert Yost shot 91 on 18 holes at the Country Club yesterday, carrying a 14 handicap for a net 79. Omega William A Smith and De Groat were notable in the tournament as season near. Numerous brilliant games highlighted the day as the event awarded a trophy from the president.
John H. Savage notes the October Hooden competition at the Country Club. Rev H W Reed shares trophy honors this season with Yost, while De Groat and Smith had strong showings. Kinzie Robinson set the course record earlier, and McKay nearly matched it despite starting from scratch.
The Elks announce an open house for friends and families at their North Chicago street quarters next Monday evening. Decor and preparations are underway under William McGrew W F McMasters and Edmund M Allen. The Lexington Quartet of Chicago will sing with local talent providing additional entertainment.
