Gang of six juveniles who broke into Santa Fe cars and sold the loot may be sent to reform school following raids by local authorities. Charles reports details of arrests and charges.
Five boys ages eleven to fifteen faced delinquency charges in County Court before Judge Cowing. The youths, all from the First and Second wards, were linked to thefts from Santa Fe box cars and a local merchant who bought stolen goods. One boy, Andi Mousack, was absent with a sister in court reporting his fear for his safety. The judge sought school records and welfare data, adjourned the case to November 18, and noted efforts to keep the youths from harsher penalties.
Frank Shaw was seized by sudden appendicitis at his Oneida street home last evening. Doctors decided on immediate surgery to save his life and he was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
Forty one saloonkeepers are cited to appear Monday morning for keeping saloons open on Sundays from Sept 20 to Oct 25. The list includes Thomas Bannon Louis Blair Clarence Blood John Bly Joseph Bodgen Patrick Creed and others. The charges are described as extreme and repeated cruelty with a default decree.
Davenport Iowa Mayor W G Scott and city council will visit Joliet to inspect the crematory. Mayor Cronin learned of the plan and will host the delegation with alders aiding. Automobiles will convey the visitors south to the crematory, followed by a city sight-seeing tour and an early luncheon for a half day visit.

St John s English Lutheran church debuts a fine pipe organ built by Hinners Organ Co Pekin NJ. The three manual tracker pneumatic instrument features 19 stops and 1043 pipes with concave radiating pedal keyboard. Oak Gothic case, plain gold display pipes, electric motor and pressure blower power the organ. A dedication recital is set for Thursday evening November 12.

Harry Parsons, longtime Joliet resident now living in Alva Wood County Oklahoma, has been elected to the state legislature. He is the brother of John Parsons manager of the Interstate Telephone company in the area.
