Jury Finds Death Natural. Man Shipped Home to Peotone
The body of Joel Conklin was shipped to Peotone after death at the county jail. A coroner’s inquest found death due to natural causes, but noted a dog bite as a possible immediate factor. Conklin had reported choking and showed unusual behavior since Sunday after riding a horse, with heart trouble cited as a probable cause.

Moran Wins Local Board Bids For Three Improvements
In adjourned session the Board of Local Improvements approved contracts for three projects with William Moran the successful bidder on all. Moran’s brick paving bid for Morgan Street between Pleasant and Willow was 14 428, Shannon bid 14 865 50. Baker Avenue sewer and water main bids showed Moran lowest by 32 65, securing that contract as well.
