City health praised as good with smallpox quaran tined clusters
Health commissioner Dr. H G Schuessler said the city has no diphtheria scarlet fever or other serious diseases for weeks and only three smallpox families remain quarantined. The last smallpox case before these was June 1907 and four cases occurred in May of last year. The illness is mild and affected buildings were inspected for containment.

Wilmington May 21 Special to The Republican Wilmington Lodge No. 208 A F and A M hosted a Joliet Masons delegation for conferring the third degree on two candidates followed by an informal banquet in the Masonic hall basement. The Joliet group included Mt Joliet Lodge No. 42 and Matteson Lodge No. 175 with sixty one visitors. The visitors arrived at 7 pm and spent the night with Wilmington Masons before returning to Joliet. Musical entertainment was provided by Albert Hindle.
