Laborer Crushed at Illinois Steel Mill. Leg Amputated
John Yackovitch a laborer at the Merchant mill was crushed under billets at the Illinois Steel mill on Friday morning. He was taken to St Joseph's hospital where his left leg was amputated. Doctors believe the other limb may be saved despite severe crush injuries. A wagon used to move the heavy billets collapsed causing the accident.
