Four Daring Robberies Strike Wilmington on Water Street

A suspected organized gang robbed Cracraft's clothing store, Steinhart & Whitmore hardware, Hughes and Powers saloons on Water Street. They took revolvers, watches, clothing, money and other small articles totaling several hundred dollars. Entrance was through rear windows and three suspicious men were seen earlier, but no arrests or complete lists were obtained.

March Term Criminal Calendar Faces Delays And Trials

The March term criminal calendar awaits trial as Judge Marshall may delay hearings to midweek. Top cases include Charles Bregori for larceny and John Bailey for criminal assault, with Peter Klobacher and Henry Feil among others slated. Several cases, including Hulshizer and Ward, appear unlikely to be called.

Water course blocked by injunction in Lockport case

An injunction secures an order to block a water course on Lockport land. Joliet Settlement House Reopens After Funds Restored

Settlement workers in Joliet have progressed in their efforts after a brief closure due to funding. The Joliet settlement house resumed sewing and cooking classes, with strong attendance and ongoing support from local clubs, churches, and societies. Miss Shepard of the Conservatory sang with Miss Parks at the event, and light refreshments were served.

Bankers Convene In One Day Session At Joliet Club

The Northeastern Illinois Bankers Association Group No 4 opened its second annual meeting at the Joliet Commercial Club with 100 delegates. D R Burke welcomed out of town guests on behalf of the city, and R C Wilson of Chicago spoke for visiting bankers as H E Otte summarized the year’s dishonest practices and urged action. Secretary George Woodruff and Treasurer W T Bruckner reported growth and finances, followed by an informal discussion and a committee named to nominate officers for the coming year.

Butch Floyd Alleged RiS Getaway Incident

Witnesses say Butch Floyd attacked E A Billings in front of Merk's loon at the corner of Washington and oli Streets. Floyd delivered knockout punches before fleeing. Billings is reported missing as Floyd remains at large, with authorities and witnesses unable to determine a motive.

Sharp shooters club directors vote to sell four acres of valuable property in the western city part of the grounds.
