The Last: O1 the Lunch Lots advertises five remaining lots in the brat Subdivision near corner s and Jerome avenues within a block. They are offered at a very low price to finish selling the subdivision quickly.
The Silver Cross Hospital Training School held its fourth commencement in the auditorium before a large audience. Graduates Verna M. Kilgore Linda A. Smith Laura A. Borchard Delia J. Scott Elsie C. Goodhue and Jemima Bell were praised for their training and dedication. Dr Minnie K Bowles spoke on the trained nurse and Dr Maurice Houston read the class charge. Diplomas were awarded by President Leach followed by a reception and departures for seeks career locations.
The Republican lists ninety two liquor license applications on file for the coming year. At Tuesday’s meeting seventy two with bonds were submitted, eight without bonds, then twelve more added last night. New applicants include Henrie Schoettes, Thomas Lawlor, Edwin Porter, Joseph Weber, and others with bonds filed for many. The Madison city council adjourned without fixing a license fee, as mayor and aldermen clash over approving eighty eight bonds for new licenses. The mayor refuses to entertain the bonds until the license fee ordinance is clarified, while aldermen push ahead, risking court action and a possible prohibition tomorrow if no special session is held. The scene drew a packed chamber as bonds were examined by the city attorney and debated amid disputes over authority and enlightenment.
