The board agreed to repair roofs and equipment, replace floors and wiring, and hire janitors and assistants. Several teachers were advanced to professional class. payroll totaling 5223.20 was approved as all members attended.
St. Peter's German Lutheran church and school picnic tomorrow at Theiler's Park North Hickory street features prize bowling, shooting gallery attractions, dining hall service at noon and six, a six piece orchestra, dancing, and a children’s folk song program at four led by St. Peter's School.

Plans for multiple picnics fill the week as various groups schedule outings at Electric park and nearby venues. On Thursday the Maccabees and Royal Neighbors reserve special cars for a trip to Aurora with a large crowd expected. The Richards Street M B H church hosts a Sunday school picnic at Electric park, followed by Yeoman lodge events. Friday features Ottawa Street M B H church and First Presbyterian church picnics at the park with two carloads expected.

Boston Store workers and guests gathered for an annual outing at Electric Park organized by M. A. Felman. Special cars carried crowds from Joliet and the pavilion floor collapsed during a supper break, leading to jovial chaos before dancing and park amusements resumed.
The Mary Solan case ends with a jury verdict of $1000 for damages to her property from a proposed viaduct. Commissioners may appeal after a morning discussion. they argued no damage in trial, Solan sought $2000, and the case has delayed track elevation plans for some time.
Joliet Township high school board adopts resolutions of respect after the death of I. C. Norton a longtime public servant and advocate for justice progress and student welfare. The notice notes his death as a loss to the board and community and honors his service to the school and its patrons.

An accident at the Steel Mills saw the No 1 rod mill shaft break and trigger the shutdown of No 2 and No 3 mills. A fragment five feet long flew through a window but no injuries were reported. The No 1 unit may restart in two to three days.
