Hager Estate Final Report and Court Actions

Police search for girl who vanished with jewels

Dragnet issued for 15 year old Jessie Mitchell suspected of stealing from Mrs. Elizabeth Cody at 513 North Chicago Street and Mrs. Hirschfield in Barnes flats. Mitchell, once Joliet resident, worked as a servant and fled to Chicago after taking jewelry money and a hat. Authorities say she may have returned to Chicago, with a warrant issued by Mrs. Hirschfield.
