Frank Aister of Peru sued Joliet Bridge and Iron Co for 50000 after a steel beam struck him while helping build at the Chicago plant. The jury awarded 5000 and the company paid in open court, ending a hard fought case. Aister became blind and paralyzed in one eye from the injury.

Mitchell, once Joliet resident, worked as a servant and fled to Chicago after taking jewelry money and a hat. Authorities say she may have returned to Chicago, with a warrant issued by Mrs. Hirschfield.
Judge Dibell grants Henrietta Adler use of the homestead for life with furnishings except part of the library to Abraham Adler, plus $60 monthly alimony funded from a $2,500 stake. Adler retains life policies and $1,800 cash value, while custodians invest remaining funds for alimony.
