Ninety-Six Joliet Pupils Never Missed a Day in School

In Joliet the 1902 school year saw ninety six pupils avoid absences across a total enrollment of 5,500. Red Mill Wagon Bridge Needs Funds After Flood

The Red Mill wagon bridge over Hickory creek, washed away by the June flood, lies ruined and unusable. The town faces about 12 000 in repairs, must wait for next year’s taxes for funding, and the auditing board will decide next week on authorization. Kelthe Stone Co. won the Woodruff hill improvement bid at 35 cents per cubic yard for excavation and filling, with a total payroll of 453.10 for the past week.

San Marco Venetian Society formed in Joliet

Last night a new Italian society named San Marco Venetian was organized on South Chicago street. Sixty members joined, naming Ciprian Garbin as president and a six member board plus a six member trustees and sanitary committee led by Christiano Benetti. The meeting praised Italian community harmony and anticipated future welfare in Joliet.
