Au frygy men celebrate their first mass at St John’s Catholic Parish with pomp and splendor. Priests from St John’s observed the ceremony yesterday marking a historic religious milestone.
Three sons of St John’s German Catholic Church, Father James Meyer, Father Schlueter, and Father Vitus, completed three years of prep and were ordained in a formal Franciscan priesthood ceremony. The homecoming Mass featured surpliced clergy, a procession, and elaborate vestments as families and parishioners celebrated. Weather, decorations, and a grand chalice memorialized the occasion.

Local resident John Donnally, a house plumber, suffered heart failure and died moments after the attack before a doctor could reach him. The incident occurred in a room at St McW.
A 31 year old Joliet plumber John Donnally died at the St Nicholas hotel after a theater outing with Jeannette Kelly of Chicago. An inquest found death from natural causes likely heart failure aggravated by heat. Donnally leaves a wife and five year old son.
Mrs. Hilla Searles, wife of Dr. Frank W. Searles of New Lenox, died in College Court Texas after a year of illness. The body will arrive tonight and burial will be in New Lenox after a 10:30 funeral at the Episcopal church. Survived by husband and three children Fred Brown Joliet Sara Searles and Howard Searles.
