Washington June 26 The Post prints Grosvenor of Ohio authorized reply to Quigg New York member of the resolutions committee denying allegations of mutilation of the Republican platform. Grosvenor says he holds the original document with interlineations. claims the platform was revised but still the committee and sub committee agreed. He says Foraker handed him the document after the convention and it shows interlineations and omissions from Quigg's version. The dispute centers on whether Quigg's rewriting altered the platform and the total word count from 2000 to 2343 words.
William J. Bryan returns from Wisconsin and Chicago and will remain in Lincoln until after the Democratic national convention. He denies any campaign plan assertions and says the Kansas City platform will reaffirm Chicago’s and include a strong anti trust plank and a clear imperialism stance with Boer sympathy.
About 35 anti imperialists from major cities gathered at the Plaza Hotel to decide their strategy for the upcoming presidential campaign. They unanimously directed the American Anti Imperialist League to call a general conference after the Democratic national convention in Kansas City to outline a campaign plan. Representative Bailey of Texas buys a 6000 acre Dallas county ranch. Griscom presses for U.S. indemnity settlement with the Porte. Ezra J. Warner adds 20000 to a 50000 gift to Middlebury College. One hundred twenty five teachers leave for Harvard summer school in Boston. A French architect uses balloons to clean and decorate tall structures. A Utica man’s pension increase causes his fall.
