Silver Cross hospital training school will hold its nineteenth commencement on Thursday June 30 at the Auditorium. Five students Miss Minnie Leach Miss Annie Bauer Miss Grace Howland Miss May Cox Miss Anna Trumble will complete the course. After the program refreshments will be served in the parlors.
The wedding of George Herbach formerly of this city and now of Buffalo to Miss Gertrude Catherine Braun of a city will be held Tuesday. The groom, a cigarmaker, gave a farewell reception on Summit street before moving to his new home. Invitations have been received in the city and the ceremony will be followed by a reception at the bride’s parents home where a son is expected.
George E Feagans Joliet jeweler announces a sacrifice sale as his lease expires and he searches for a new location with insufficient space for his stock. He denies closing Joliet business but will cut lines and reduce stock to fit a smaller shop. The Feagans store, long a Joliet showplace, faces downsizing due to space constraints.
The Ridgewood Methodist church plans a 2 PM meeting to organize a church body and elect trustees with aim to purchase a lot at Sterling and Ervin avenues for a new building. A Sunday school organization is also planned. The Ladies' Aid society of about thirty five members is active under Rev. Roderick Murray of Irving Street Methodist.
Daniel Murphy, graduate of St Mary's parochial school on North Eastern avenue, earned special honors at St Ignatius college BCE, bringing home a gold medal for general excellence along with two firsts and three second class premiums. He holds a scholarship from his local school and resides on Youngs avenue.
Joliet aldermen inspected Chicago track elevation plans during a field tour. John ONeill urged adoption despite objections, noting eighteen grade crossings replaced and long gaps requiring openings. Officials visited Englewood and Sixty-third Street to study depressions and subway depths as they weigh feasibility for Joliet extensions.

An E J and E freight train of forty plus cars broke in two near Brisbane six miles east of here last night at 9 30. The ladies of St Mary's parish organize a large Fourth of July event at the Shooting park with elaborate features. Three divisions manage the program each planning a baby show with prizes to attract many children from the parish.
Silas S. Myers, the janitor at the government building, married Miss Bertha A. Carrington of Braidwood on Wednesday evening. The couple will reside at 598 South Chicago Street. The note closes with a light remark about marital influence in the office.
Judge Garnsey overruled the motion to quash the main indictment against Mayor Crolius and co defendants, forcing a trial on charges of conspiring to impede voting at the First ward election last April. Frank Dandrea and others face trials for intimidating voters as well. Several civil actions and bankruptcies are listed, with cases proceeding or dismissed, including Exchange Bank of Lockport v Bacon and others.
Knott of Star Wall Paper mills adds six improvements on Des Plaines Street west of the factory. He creates a small park with a weeded canal edge, a mowed lawn, and a central flower bed bordered by a painted white fence and stones. The project draws bouquets for Sheriff Bay.
Steel Works band conducted by W. A. Blakely presented a program at Electric Park on Sunday June 26 1904 with marches dances waltzes medleys and a marine band march. Selections included Crisis Burgomaster Manana Mary Ann Orizaba Bedelia Mandolina and Chicago Marine Band March among others with intermission between halves.
A Tokyo dispatch reports a night battle after a southward dash by sixteen Russian warships. Japanese destroyers torpedoed and sank a battleship of the Peresviet type and disabled the Sevastopol, with the Diana type cruiser towed in damaged. One destroyer was hit and three crew killed with three wounded.
A major blaze seethes through Geneva old town with a high wind driving flames. The historic national church housing priceless art was destroyed, and the cathedral faces imminent danger as the fire rages through narrow streets.
Fire of incendiary origin swept through seven acres of lumber yards in Cleveland early this morning. The J. H. Hahn Box Company Nicola Brothers and Ralph Gray Lumber Company suffered a total loss estimated at 200000 dollars.

Eleven people were injured in a collision between two street cars at Wallace and Thirty-first streets on the south side. One passenger died and others were thrown onto the sidewalk. John Freeman and Mrs. Theresa Walsh were seriously injured.
Rear Admiral Chadwick informs the navy department that Per dicaris and Varley arrived at Tangier last night. He has been instructed to continue the cruise.
The Big Four Twenty Century southbound derailed at Delaware station killing engineer Frank Bard of Cleveland and fatally injuring the baggage master. Fireman Gore Conductor Kistey and several passengers sustained serious injuries as Allen McDonald of ville is noted among the injured.
