Mrs. Ernest Quick seeks state industrial schooling for her eight year old son Raymond Quick after a string of petty thefts including a break into J. R. Hobbs cafe and grocery. Keys recovered, wheel recovered from Fred S. Hale, and police note arrest not possible due to age. Anderson implicated as partner in several thefts. both too young for prosecution.
A suspect named Anderson is charged in a theft involving a stock worth four dollars to five dollars and fifty cents in small change. He is linked to other bicycle thefts, including a summer arrest for taking a machine from Electric Park, Plainfield, recovered by Detective Hennessy. It is believed he and Quick stole S. Tyler’s wheel on the thirteenth of the month, and Quick was recently found with a stolen wheel.
Health department warns of stricter enforcement to curb rising scarlet fever cases. Officials say quarantines are ignored and threaten community health. officers may enforce rules at homes under quarantine. Multiple local addresses report new cases as authorities vow tough action.
A Will County Republican subcommittee held a meeting to define primary districts for congressional state and senatorial races. The plan seeks 800 voters per district with contiguous precincts, balancing Joliet city lines and outside town boundaries into compact, fair districts. The group reported progress and aims to finish at the next session.

James Jones and Annie George, a gypsy couple from Lockport, sought a marriage license at the county clerk’s office, the first such request from gypsies in the county. They wore bright tribal dress and left without arranging a ceremony. The gypsy group is camped near Lockport and engaged in fortune telling to supplement income.
A resident named Charles Lyons borrowed William W. Stevens horse and buggy without permission sparking a suspected horse theft. The rig was later recovered by Stevens on Washington Street and Lyons was expelled. no arrests were made. Cap tain Carey and Sergeant Brazil pursued the suspect toward Manning Avenue. The theft was initially believed serious but no damage occurred.
Joseph R Blood aged 35, a painter and paper hanger of 520 Elmwood Avenue, left his home Thursday morning around 10 o clock and has not been seen since. Mrs Blood filed a report with police, and a search is underway. he is described as 5 11, 200 pounds, dark complexion, stout build, smooth shaven.
The WIII County Teachers Institute opens Monday in the Roosevelt school assembly room. Interest is unusually high with attendance expected to exceed prior years. Sessions are open to the public and school officials are urged to attend. Next Saturday a teacher examination will follow the institute, marking the last chance to take it.

The J. P. and A. R. R. introduces six new cars ready for Sunday use. The service promises ample accommodations for visitors to Electric Park and other points on the line. Excursion rates apply and half hour service will run all day with extra cars in the afternoon and evening to handle the business.
Stanley McDermott sixteen and an elevator boy at the Masonic Temple Jefferson street died at St. Josephs hospital after being found unconscious in the basement foot of the shaft. Authorities and engineers debate if he was crushed between floor and ceiling as the auto cut off stopped the car at the top. Deputy Coroner to hold inquest with J A Doolittle and Dr Shaw as witnesses.
