Jefferson City June 22 Four men were killed and one possibly fatally scalded in a collision between two Missouri Pacific freight trains at Coles Junction last night. The dead include Fireman Mike Duvall Brakeman Wm Atkinson and two ramps. They were thrown beneath the engine under which an oil tank containing muriatic acid lay. The acid spilled and burned the men. Engineer Mike Finnergamn was thrown under the steam chest and scalded.
A U S grand jury returned a joint indictment against ex-postmaster George Leveiz of Toledo Ohio his wife ex-Superintendent Machen and Dillon and Samuel Groff members of the firm that sold patent pencil box fasteners to the government charging conspiracy to defraud the government. The case covers a transaction linked to earlier indictments of Machen and Groff.

The case against Mollie E. Collison for obtaining money under false pretenses was stricken from the criminal docket with leave to reinstate. A forfeiture motion was heard, and a scite facial ordered returnable next term. Several gaming cases against Frank Gallagher were stricken. The peace bond for Charles Lyons expired and his case was stricken. Discharged: Peter Adams recognizance, Henry Bossi recognizance, Alexander mittimus.
Spokane reports a Great Northern train broke loose on a hill and rolled three miles into the city. Part of the train fell from the track wrecking Crystal laundry and a shack where nine men slept. all are reported killed.
Berlin reports election riots in Giewitz East Prussia. Rioters destroyed houses and police killed one person while injuring others. Troops were deployed to quell the disturbance.
Washington reports Justice Daniel MacMillan of the New Mexico Supreme Court was removed on charges of general immorality.
The Stevenson camp drill team arrived on the 7 10 Santa Fe train to a rousing downtown welcome. Thousands lined Clinton to Cass as Captain Fred W. Pearson led the brown uniformed group through a formal parade ending with a public drill at Ottawa and Jefferson, followed by speeches at Roberson Hall.
W O Hodgdon of The News acted quickly to stop a runaway horse pulling a delivery wagon at Cass Street during a parade. Driver P Adelman was injured, left ankle displaced and later treated at home, while Hodgdon and bystanders prevented a wider tragedy as crowds fled. Chief Binzen assisted, and the incident disrupted the march briefly.

Father Linden, son of Mr and Mrs Linden of State Street, celebrated his first mass at St John’s yesterday at 10 o clock. Rev Father Polycarp Rhode was principal celebrant with Subdeacon Zimmer of Columbus Ohio. The church was crowded and a reception followed.
A weekly band concert at Rock Run and West Parks drew a smaller crowd due to poor weather. The program proceeded as announced with high standard music enjoyed by attendees. About 20 people were on Rock Run grounds at noon and many joined the boat outing. weather hampered dances and other plans.
N. J. Green and Thomas Clemmons of the West Side Pleas urub were surprised Saturday evening by members and friends at Oschner hall. The walk in affair featured dancing as the main event and late hours bringing the celebration to a close.
