Joliet Welcomes Texas Trade Party on Special Train

A Texas delegation led by Governor Sham arrives in Joliet on a special train to view Illinois manufacturing and discuss deep waterway plans to connect the lakes to the Gulf. E. H. R. Green of the Texas Midland railroad heads accompanying figures, with a dinner and discussions at the Commercial Club and a late evening stay in Aurora.

Woman Injured After Street Car and Freight Train Collision

A southbound street car crashed into an eastbound E J and E freight train at East Cass street Thursday night. Mrs Charles Koerner sustained back and head injuries but is not in serious condition. she is confined to 905 Van Buren street. Motorman J A McNutt and Conductor Pries bots jumped to safety. Koerner fell during the incident. The collision occurred on a hill near the J crossing as brakes reportedly failed on slippery rails. The train stopped shortly after the impact. the car dashboard was damaged and the headlight torn away. Mrs Koerner, who was returning from Silver Cross hospital, is home under physician care with no broken bones.

Weatherly and King to Wed in Birmingham Home Ceremony

Invitations announce the marriage of Miss Eugenia Weatherly of Birmingham Alabama to John W King formerly of this city now in Birmingham. Etheredge Faces Two Larceny Charges In Local Court

William Etheredge was arrested on two larceny counts after a hearing demand failed. Bonds set at 1000 dollars, with 500 dollars per charge, he was placed in county jail awaiting trial. Detective Lieut Connors tracked him to a northeast saloon. complainants Robt Bord and John Susena are noted.

Rev Geo McGinnis announces Joliet Chautauqua runs July 14 to 29 1906 at Dellwood Park with top orators and entertainers. Young Women to Graduate From Silver Cross School

Invitations have been issued for the tenth annual commencement exercises of the Silver Cross hospital training school to be held Thursday evening June 1 at 8 o'clock in the Auditorium.
