John Offerman was robbed as a bandit took $345 from his pocket but handed over only $3 saying it was all the money he had. The incident details remain unclear and no further suspect information is provided.
William Henry Perry testified how Holland rode with Miss Nellie Sheridan on the Troy road when a revolver was leveled and money demanded. Perry pursued, recovered the weapon, and turned Holland over to locals who brought him to town. The case centers on three holdups and a confession aligned with a spring municipal election witness.
Judge Dorrance Dibell of Joliet was reappointed today to the Appellate bench by the Supreme Court in Springfield. Joining him from the second district are Henry B. Willis of Elgin and George W.
