The Joliet weather report notes possible showers tonight and Thursday fair conditions with variable winds. Temperatures show a 85 degree high and 64 degree low within the last day.
At a Springfield meeting tensions rise between John P F Quinn attorney and Purkhiser over Will County contest. Purkhiser vows to smash Quinn while both men refrained from direct confrontation as factional bitterness deepens ahead of the senatorial convention and Red Cross involvement.

A dog owned by Mrs. Rowe of South Chicago Street was shot by officers yesterday following a complaint by Thos Baskerville after a child was bitten. Magistrate Cameron heard both sides as Mrs. Rowe disputed the animal's nature while evidence showed it posed a nuisance and danger to the neighborhood.
A group of 1904 graduates including Alvin Brummond and Lawrence Stansbury leave town for several weeks of river camping. Dorrance Snapp Howard Conklin and Phelps Cowing join another party heading down the river for the same summer plan as peers depart after exams and classes end.
