May Settle the Strike fliers at St Louis

Negotiations reopened to settle the street railway strike in St Louis. The Street Railway Employer's union executive committee called a mass meeting of strikers to vote on a proposition approved by both the grievance and executive committees. If accepted, the proposal goes to Transit company officials and the strike would largely end.

Fire claims six lives in New York tenement blaze

A morning fire at 34 Jackson street in a five story tenement killed six people. The first victim found was Daniel Miller and others included Daniel Connelly and Mrs Daniel plus two daughters and an unknown woman. The blaze started on the first floor and spread to a rear building.
