June Session Adjourns With Court House Repair Decisions

Startling Recovery On Receipt Of A Check In 1905
W J Murphy of Elgin, a ball player, reportedly recovered enough after receiving a $750 injury claim check for a wreck on the third rail near Elgin on May 7 1905 to play a standout game. The railroad company later halted payment and Murphy sued A E A, with a jury awarding $567 and his attorney seeking a new trial.

Judges Digell Appointed to Second District Appellate Court
Springfield, June 14. The supreme court today named Dorrance Dibell Henry E Willis and George W Thompson as judges of the Appellate court for the Second district for three years. Dibell has served three terms on the Second district bench since 1880. Willis is from Elgin and Thompson from Galesburg both new appointees. They replace Farmer and Vickers elected to the supreme court bench.
